We can understand this but we can follow the track from lungs (Air) to the mouth.
1. Changes in the vocal cord:
The outcome is the sound filled air the vocal fold vibrating cycle has phases that include an opening and closing sequences, and puff of air that goes through high speed and air pressure is converted into sound.
2. The changes in the Pharynx :
The objective here is how pressure is varied in this cycle from larynx to the mouth. This vibrating cycle in repeated .A column of air pressure opens at the pharyngeal area.
3. Mouth: Pharyngeal travel to the mouth, in that phase air is prevented from entering the nose and goes to the mouth.
4. Changes in the mouth:
No one has attempted to calculate the air pressure during this travel into mouth. There are many stops, many openings – how the pressure varies nobody knows. Just like a column of water passes through a river and there are blockings and opening this creates gushing sound at the level of uvula, we can measure this. However humans air passing through our lungs which under goes changes so far has been ascertained and we lack this knowledge completely.
The objective of this short paper is how we can measure the cumulative effect and the end effect which is a human voice.
Vibratory cycle:
1. Air- moved out of lungs
Fly the active of diaphragm abdominal muscle, chest muscle and rib cage
2. Comes to trachea
3. Then comes to vocal folds
(a) A vibratory cycle we can describe as column of air pressure in the mouth. (We do not know air pressure here?)
(b) A column of air moves in the mouth and top of the tongue (We do not know the pressure of air?)
The cycle goes on…….
Thus the repeated air pulses from the mouth produces sound or voice sound – the amplification take places modification takes place by tongue including soft palate.
In an air musical instrument like oboe or clarinet or flute etc.…. the air flow with in the mouth piece broadens sound which the altered and shapes as it passes through the instrument, the player of instrument also plays is this fingers by stopping and openings the holes in the instruments.
The objective of the article it is to invite others who are interested to make their own contribution and how the pressure varies and intensity profiles of sound.
Dr. M.
